Class size is limited and registration is required for all SUP programs; participants must be 14-plus years old and able to swim. All minors must be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for them. All equipment is provided by Prescott Paddle. Dress for the weather and water activity. In the case of inclement weather, class could be cancelled due to unsafe conditions including rain, high winds, or lightning, in which case class will be cancelled and a refund/credit issued. Bike Ride Benefiting Hastings Family Services

(Space is limited! Registration ends July 8!)

Riders of every level are welcome!

Here's how it works:

  • The ride begins and ends at the winery with routes of 20, 30 and 50+ miles
  • Check-in at the winery starts at 7:00 am and goes until 10:00 am
  • Lunch is served from 11: am to 1: pm
  • Enjoy the rest of the day at the Winery!

Maps will be forwarded to riders before the ride with copies for riders available on the day of the event. You can choose your ride of 20, 30 or 50 miles on the day of the ride. Coaches will be at the winery to help you plan your ride with riders leaving at various times so there will always be someone to ride with; do not ride alone! We encourage you to take a cell phone with the winery number for support; 651-437-1413. We are there when and if you need us!

Sam, our Bike Guru from NOW Sports, will be a the winery with his service tools and on the route to help riders with any bike issues on the road. Routes will be well marked with rest stops along the way. We will have support groups, including Gary and his Motorcycle Gang to help if you break down and crossing guards at busy intersections.

Depending on the route you choose and the speed at which you ride, give yourself plenty of time to complete the ride and be back at the winery for lunch; service ends at 1: pm.

ALL BIKERS MUST WEAR A HELMET!

AFTER THE RIDE

Partake in an Aprés-Bike stretching and cool-down session with Lucy P. from Red Twig Yoga & Gardens, all the while refreshing with a cool glass of Nan's Sangria or a delicious beer from Summit Brewery. Chef Mike Shannon will be serving an incredible lunch. Then stay to relax while you enjoy the satisfaction of your ride in the atmosphere of good friends.

Jul 27    Sunset Stand Up Paddleboarding
Experience SUP on Lake St. Croix at the confluence of the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers! Class size is limited and registration is required for all SUP programs; participants must be 14-plus years old and able to swim. All minors must be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for them. All equipment is provided by Prescott Paddle. Dress for the weather and water activity. In the case of inclement weather, class could be cancelled due to unsafe conditions including rain, high winds, or lightning, in which case class will be cancelled and a refund/credit issued. Check this website or call the park contact station for weather and class updates.

Have you ever wondered what bird banding is all about?  Bird Banding records can help us learn how long birds live, where they travel, when and where they migrate and many other interesting facts.  Carpenter Nature Center has been banding birds for over 30 years.  On the fourth Friday of the month bird banding is open to the public. 
There is no program fee, but donations of Bird Seed and Suet are greatly appreciated.

We are located in the west end of Hastings, one block off Highway 55 onto Pleasant Drive. Lots of parking space right on the site so you will be close to the open air sales area.

We open at 8 a.m. so come early for the best selection and we do operate thru rain...bring your umbrella.
